Ortona South Campground

We stayed at Kissimmee Prairie State Park near Okeechobee Florida for ten days. The phone service was sporadic and we were not sure a post would be successful so we waited until we moved farther south to post. We will post some notes from Kissimmee Prairie soon but right now we are thinking we are being punished for bragging about the beautiful weather we have been having. After moving farther south yesterday, the wind is strong and gusty, it was chilly last night, and the prediction is for a hard freeze tonight. We will disconnect the water, relieve the pressure in the water lines, crank up the heat, and open the cabinet doors tonight. We are humbled!
When the weather improves, this campground will be interesting. It is located at the Corps of Engineers Ortona Lock on the Caloosahatchee River which is part of the Okeechobee Waterway system.
