Most of the lighthouses on the Oregon coast are not active but are definitely tourist attractions.
This next one is still operational at a Coast Guard Station across the street from a whale watching overlook.
The advice at the overlook is to look for the blows with the naked eye then zero in on it with binoculars. We never saw any blows but the area set aside with levees to cultivate oysters and mussels was fascinating.
As highway 101 winds itself around and up and down over the coastal mountains, beautiful vistas open up to show the breakers and cliffs.
