Relaxation

February 16, 2015 § 6 Comments

This may have been the most relaxing winter of the 78 and 77 winters we’ve had.  Very uneventful and comfortable.   It is surprising how private our campsite is considering there are hundreds if not thousands of other campers scattered about this huge desert BLM area.  We are adjacent to a large wash where the coyotes roam and we walk now and then.

We are so comfortable that we have not decided when to move on.  We have been in this area since October and in this site since December 4th.  One day in the next several weeks we will hook up and head for BLM land near Ajo and Why Arizona then to Tucson and points East.

In the meantime,  we have had little to write about so we just read, nap, and otherwise vegetate.

We do go into town to do laundry, buy groceries, buy propane and gas, and various other things.

We have also accomplished repairs.

We now have new tires on the van.

We replaced our broken shower head.

We replaced the furnace thermostat

Replacing the water pump on the van was interesting.  It appeared to be half of the engine on the floor of the ancient garage in Blythe CA to gain access to the pump.  This was while the rear of the van was sticking out of the garage door on the sidewalk.  Add in wrong parts and such silliness and that day was shot.

Oh yes we must not forget replacing the sanitary valve seals on the trailer.  There are two sets – one for the grey water and one for the black water.  We replaced those ourselves and it was a messy job.  Enough said!

Are you touching the cactus because you’re bored? Didn’t that hurt?

Glad you’re enjoying the quiet. Hope you are practicing Bridge as we intend to beat you when you reach Houston!

  • Tammy Evans says:

Glad to hear you two are doing good. Enjoy your relaxation! Tom would really like it where you are right now. He likes the desert. It sounds like you’re all repaired and ready to roll. Take care!

  • Jan Phillips says:

Great to hear from you! Wish we were there–I am so sick of snow and bitter cold! It is costing a small fortune to stay plowed out! It was 4 below this a.m. Loved your pictures!

All I have to say is; What Jan said!!!

We are starting to look at houses, again, but I don’t know if we are going to find what we want.

Be careful on your jonts and, hopefully, see you some time this year.

Bud and Sandi aree living in Arizona for the Winters. They bought a house there and go in October and come home in March, if the weather is all right.

    More, later.

    Love you guys,
    Roger & Pat
